Wolfgang Henle (63) started his career in physics, working as a scientist in Innsbruck, München und Berlin. In 1994 he left science for the Airline Industry. Ten years later and after working as Exec.VP Flight Ops. at Tyrolean Airways, he became Chief Operations Officer of the national Airline of Slovakia. In 2010 he became VP Corporate Controlling of Austrian Airlines.
Since 2013 Wolfgang Henle works as Managing Director of SAMCO Aircraft Maintenance Bratislava. The former Austrian Airlines daughter company is a MRO specializing on Embraer and Airbus A220 airplanes, In April 2024 ATB was sold to SAMCO Maastricht which is specializing in regional and narrow body airplanes. Together the SAMCO group is offering 600.000 MHR pa on a broad portfolio including the E190 E1/E2 and A220.
